Can the Venturi System accept modern vacuum Instrument Replacement

Can I replace the origional circa 1956 DG and Horizon with a modern vacuum instruments? Will the modern vacuum DG and Horizon work efficiently?

Missy J was born with a venturi vacuum system and still has the original 1956 DG (very inaccurate) and Horizon which are both boat anchors.

I am a VFR pilot with no intentions of ever conducting IFR flights. I might replace the DG with a dash mounted compass to same money; once again I am a VFR pilot.

I recognize the need for a horizon on board for that once in a while cloud busting, but I would rather not have a horizon to aviod doing something stupid or doing anything beyond by abilities.

Additionly, I have a Garmin 196 as a back up for instruments and navigation.

Does anyone know where I might find yellow tag electric DG and Horizon; covering all bases here just in case? Oh, if anyone has second hand DG or Horizon for sale please let me let me know.

I have a '58 with origional venturi and DG/AH. Bought a Dual VOR/ILS package then was told that the plane could not be ceritified for IMC on venturi vacuum because it is subject to icing. Must have vacuum pump but can use the venturi vacuum as a backup. Looked for an STC for a vacuum pump system modification without success. If anyone is aware of one, I would appreciate getting pointed to an approval or POSITIVE knowledge on IFR certification on a venturi.
