I see Garmin intoduced a color version of the 196--it is in color and has a "poor man's" TAWS.  Big deal--when the #@*$ is someone gonna give us what we need (at least I do)---a GPS with integrated XM receiver (or an internet connection) so we can overlay NEXRAD over our course?  It doesn't seem like so much to ask, Garmin??  Then we would have a "poor man's" RADAR--which, IMHO, is needed a helluva lot more than terrain awareness.  Hell, I can look out the window and see the terrain--but on a hazy summer day, T-storms are kinda hidden.  OR--they could integrate STORM-SCOPE technology into a GPS--hell, thats nothing but an A.M. Radio receiver with a display to show static caused by lightning.  OK--I've vented and feel better now.
