Cessna Radio Replacement
Cessna Radio Replacement
I am considering replacing the Cessna Nav-Com. I was given an older Narco with the VOR/GS Indicator. Will the Narco replacement that plugs into the Cessna tray drive the Narco VOR/GS or is it designed to only drive the Cessna Indicator since it replaces the Cessna radio?
Re: Cessna Radio Replacement
I'm not a radio guy...but I'm pretty darned sure that most nav radios will drive most indicators. all too often the plugs are different, then things start getting a bit pricey having the wires & plugs changed.
I found out the hard way that a decent or "good" price on an indicator isn't necessarily the case if the plugs don't match.
I hope it all works out better than planned for you...

Re: Cessna Radio Replacement
The Narco MK12D/Cessna replacement radio has an ARINC composite out and will drive a converter indicator or an RNav. It will not drive an ID824/825.
It is designed to drive only the ARC IN525 series indicators. The converter portion of the MK12D/Cessna replacement uses the resolver in only the ARC indicators.
Exactly what model of Narco radio and indicator do you have?
