External CDI for KLN-89B?
External CDI for KLN-89B?
Hi,
Is there any person with experience of use of KLN-89B with an external CDI? I was told that KLN-89B could drive KI-206. Then, how about KI-208 or KI-209? Can it drive these VOR indicators?
My second concern is, whether this KLN-89B with external CDI(KI-206, 208 or 209) could work as 2nd VOR during IFR flight. I currently have a KX-155 with KI-209(1st VOR w/ GS). Will I be able to fly IFR if I put KLN-89B with external CDI into my plane?

I used a 208B and shared it to number 2 radio. You also would need an annuncuator for IFR cert.

I think a 209A will also work. the 209 and 208 will not.

King KI-202 is the single needle rectilinear indicator for this application.
