I have owned a 1958 175 with the original GO-300A and prop for 2 years now. As long as you operate the engine like the book says it does fine. I would recommend a remote oil filter if it doesn't have one and perform oil analysis at every oil change. I usually cruise between 2900 and 3100 rpm and burn about 10.5 gph and average 123 mph cruise speed. The manual 40 degrees of flaps are great for short fields.
