mixture leans on own
I have a 1967 172h after 25 min. at cruise i first notice engine roughness and than the egt starts to climb rpm picks up 100
after riching the mixture and applying carb heat the egt will go down to normal
has anyone expiernaced this?

When you say "riching the mixture" is the red knob actually working
its way out by itself, or do just mean you pull carb heat ???

I should have explained better. I can even be running with the mixture knob full rich and it will lean out.
I had suspected carb ice but rpm would increase.
I have tried running partial carb heat and lean for the differance
but it acted the same way . it will act up just about every 20 min
I have an annual next month and maybe they will find something
