Cross Thread Pressure Relief Valve
Cross Thread Pressure Relief Valve
I have an 0-200 Cont. Cessna 150D.. while installing the pressure relief valve .. I noticed it was hard to turn.. like an idiot I turned it about half way in.. and decided to back it out.. I noticed small metal particles in the pressure relief housing threads.. about half way up it appears I cross threaded it .. Is there a way to fix this? I still have good threads and really dont know If I messed the others up but I did see metal particles and the P.R.V doesnt appears to be missing any metal.. I thought the P.R.V. was brass or softer metal than the housing.. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Re: Cross Thread Pressure Relief Valve
Fixed the problem.. actually it wasnt cross threaded. I had a damaged thread on the brass nut that damaged a few threads (top) after smoothing out nut it almost went on with hand.. just had to barely turn with wrench then it went rest of way by hand..
Thank Goodness!!
