Cessna 152 Sensenich
Hello I own a cessna 152 and I have been looking at the sensenich prop replacement. I am looking at the standard prop not the cruse or climb prop. I was wondering if anyone could give me some input on the performance with the replacement prop. Is it worth the $ will I see an inprovement or what. Thanks for the help.
Re: Cessna 152 Sensenich
I owned a C-152 with the Sens. prop--it was the cruise version. Whatever you do, DON'T get the cruise version. Static RPM was low, and takeoff/climb definitely was compromised, esp. in hot weather. In cruise, it would do about 103-105 kts @ 75% which is OK, but many times I would have traded 5 or 6 knots for some climb power. With 2 people on board in hot weather, it was VERY sluggish in take-off roll and climb (try 350-400 FPM)--did not feel comfortable at all. I would not look for any increase in performance with the Sens. prop, only the freedom from the AD's on the McAuley...I believe thats the one.
