Oil Filter Mod.

I just purchased a 1957 C-182TW with an 0-470-L.
It has a screen and I'm thinking about an oil filter conversion.
Any suggestions on the best type?

I bought the spin on filter from aircraft spruce.
Good price. good service, easy install.

You might be able to find a used adapter. When my IA sends an engine in for replacement he replaces the adapter with a screen so he can sell the adapter. I spent half of an aftermarket price and have the actual Lycoming adapter.

I'll bet other shops pull off adapters when available.

Also, Aviation Consumer had an article earlier this year on various oil filter adapters. (don't remember which issue, sorry)
