outside air temp.
We have installed the new air "cans" in our 172 and the outside air thermometer [OAT] must be moved; the manufacturer recommmends drilling the windshield. Before we do this, I am curious if anyone is familiar with an Electronic OAT that is stc'd and would fulfil the requirement for the original thermometer [OAT]. SInce our clock doesn't work very well, we were hoping to put in one instument [in the panel] that has both functions....any help?

E.I. has what you’re looking for, clock that is capable of OAT. The may even have a dedicated gauge.
Davtron would be another possibility.

We have the Davtrons.. They have been the perfect instrument.. Gives digitital, easy to read, OAT readouts and also the Aircraft Voltage..which is very handy. Drilling the windshield is a last resort -I agree.. good luck.. Jack
