try a used parts/ salvage place. I got some a few years ago from Central Air Parts, Staunton Il. I paid about $95 or so in 1998. Might try Wentworth also

Werner,
Be aware that not all refuelling steps for a 172 are the same. Check your parts manual for the part number that you need for the specific serial number of your plane. The difference is in the hole pattern/spacing in the step, which has to match the rivet pattern on the plane.
