York conversion of 59' 172?
York conversion of 59' 172?
I was planning to upgrade the instrument panel of my 59' 172, but I was told that I am going to need york conversion of my 172 to center-stack new avionics. Is this true? If so, can you guys give me any recommendation of shops who can do this kind of conversion? I will be more than happy to get one around Los Angeles, CA. Thanks.

Re: York conversion of 59' 172?
Jae,
Avion Research <http://www.avion.com> has STC'd instrument panel kits that replaces the "T" control column in the early 172s with a later "U" control column to enable an avionics center stack. They also provide for the standard "six-pack" flight instrument arrangement and replace the fuses with circuit breakers.
