takeoff roll
I have a 68' Cessna 177 and as I start my takeoff roll and get some speed the plane starts to like wheel hop to where as I get to rotation it all most hops off the runway. It does not track/roll straight any more. Would a over inflated or a front strut that has extended to far cause this to happen.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Had the tires been replaced? Are tires wearing evenly?
Have you serviced the nose strut per service manual instructions. Nose wheel tire pressure 30 Psi (up to s/n 0854) or 35 PSI (0855 & up) main gear at 30 PSI. Nose gear strut pressure (strut extended) 50 Psi thru S/n 0854 40 Psi s/n 0855 & up. Also have you checked main landing gear, that nothing loose and leveling (plane sits level), eccentrics in proper place.
