Treating windshield scratches.

What is the ideal polish compound to treat scratches on windshield/tinted perspex? Before developing into cracks!

Re: Treating windshield scratches.

  Hi Victor,
I have a Cessna 140 that I have been cleaning the winshield with lemon pledge for about 10 years. It does a real good job and I belive the wax fills in the scratches.

Re: Treating windshield scratches.

I use the same type of product used on convertible windows.  It is like a wax but fills in the pits and scratches.  No glare problems in the sun.  Bugs are easier to clean off also.  I learned about this from my neighbor who has a prestine RV-8.  Sorry, I can't recall the product name.

Re: Treating windshield scratches.

Lemon Pledge is great - and cheap.
DON'T use Orange Pledge!  It does not do a good job and actually adds a slight bloom to the windshield.

Lemon Pledge temporarily fills the scratches - and it does a great job, but to actually remove the scratches go to your Harley dealer and buy Novus Scratch remover - works like a damn!
