I thought some of you may find the following of some interest.
I have just completed a Conversion on my 172G (1966) O-300C to a O-320-E2D/160 hp RAM STC
old / new net result
Engine change 145 hp / 160/hp 15 hp increase + P/F Exhaust
Prop Mc 7653 / Mc 7557 4" of pitch
empty weight 1487 / 1405 +82 lbs of useful load
Electrical 32A / 60A alternator 28 more amps
Cost 35,000 (rounded)

The following data is based on one 3.3 hr flight 2.7 air time /temp 13c /alt 30.2
climb full throttle 2540 rpm @80mph IAS
8 takeoffs and landings sea level clime to 2500' @80mph IAS
1846# 1040 fpm
2 takeoffs and landings sea level clime to 2500' @80mph IAS
2001# 880 fpm
climb 2500' to 4000' @80mph IAS rpm 900 fpm
best rate of climb achieved 1400 fpm 1690# @65mph IAS
cruse @ 2500'/wind 9900 /wheel pants off (add about 5 mph for the pants and 12#)
