Taking pet cat in cessna 182

Does anyone know of a successful experience taking a pet cat along on flights in a single engine aircraft? Any suggestions on veterinarian advice you might have received?

I have carried dogs - some love it and some cannot handle the noise - I haven't found hearing protection that stays on them yet. Sedation can help. Of course, flying single engine IFR you wouldn't sedate a cat - in case of instrument failure stick it on the right seat and watch which way it leans - best co-pilot you will ever have smile (Sorry - couldn't resist that one smile

We took our sedated cat on a trip from Modesto to San Diego. When we hit minor turbulence over the Tahachapis, the cat didn't 'like' it. We had to make a quick descent and landing at Fox field (fortunately my wife had a can of ozium in the plane or we'd have really suffered from the odor.
Our cat was in a carrier and she was very soiled. My wife took her in the restroom and literally gave her a bath in the sink. She was still a little groggy from the sedation or we'd have really been in a fix.
I wouldn't recommend it...

We have taken my two cats in the 182; seems best without sedation, as the altitude increases the effect leaving them overly woozy. Problem yet unsolved is how to provide supplemental oxygen since we often have to go over mountains and do not want them to become hypoxic.
