310Q Autopilot erratic pitch commands
310Q Autopilot erratic pitch commands
We have a 310Q with an 800 autopilot system installed. We have a a problem with the airplane pitching up then down real quick every so often while in ALT hold. Sometimes we can fly an entire leg without a problem then it comes back on the next leg.
We have had the vertical gyro overhauled thinking that the pick offs that feed the A/P computer may have been intermittent. No help. The A/P computer was O/H'd and the entire static system is tight. No help. Can someone give me some ideas?

Had you checked to see if servos are free of binds and pulleys and cables are properly tensioned.

Yes. The pulleys and cable tensions are ok.

Flew C310's and had the same problem with 310's and Mitsubishi Mu-2 M-3 autopilot's...servicing pitch servo took care of the problem.
