1957 172 parts hunt
Re: 1957 172 parts hunt
<HTML>Try www.partslogistics.com This is a free website where vendors can list their stocks. It has come in handy for me looking for parts for my '48 C-170. Once you register on the site you search for parts by part number, PMA approval, or by avariety of other methods. Usually you will get a listing of who stocks the part, their phone number, how many they have on hand, and whether it is new, overhauled, or what. It also allows you to do a request for a quote on that part online.
My first attempts at using it were not successful, but then I tried some common parts to get a feel on how the system was set up. Once I did that I was able to do things like look up parts by the manufacturer's part number stamped on the part rather than Cessna's oblsolete number... and find a variety of sources for that part.</HTML>
