Camping under the wing
Camping under the wing
The spring kicking in and finally got that Cessna (172), now looking for great adventures......
I am looking for airport anywhere in the US that has either onsite campground or at walking distance. There seems to be no website on this although that has to be popular as we all have dreamed of it at one time or another.
Anyone one with information on places they've been, know of or went are welcome to reply.
Planning on a coast to coast in couple of month and we will be carrying the tent. Just looking on places to pick it (ideally with showers for the wife...)

Petit Jean Arkansas (MPJ) is supposed to be good. I haven't been there yet but plan on going this summer.

Going to Oshkosh?...plenty of camping / fellow campers / 172 airplanes etc.

Going tomorrow to 2I3 (Rough river state park) in KY. Just southwest of Louisville for overnight. They have camping under the wing next to the runway. Right next to beautiful lake and state campground. Will tell you more upon my return. Have you ever flown with propane for a portable grill? Trying to find this out if ok to do.
