Float kit and engine upgrade for C182
Float kit and engine upgrade for C182
I have bought a 1964 C182 with a timed out engine. I'd like to add Seaplanes West float kit
http://www.seaplaneswest.com/floats.html
and also bump up the the engine preformance.
What are all the optional engine upgrades / stcs that are available for the 182 and what are the basic pros and cons of each?
I know of the P. Ponk 260hp upgrade, 2000tbo. What others are available?

Here are a couple of engine upgrade options:
You can contact Jack Johnson at Texas Skyways, Inc. regarding a price quote for their engine upgrade. There have been a number of very good testimonials posted on this forum about their products, integrity and services. See them at: http://www.txskyways.com/products.htm

Re: Float kit and engine upgrade for C182
Thanks for the tip. I like the Skyways upgrade much better than P.Plonk. More HP, and more TBO and they really seem on the ball there.
Jack spent a good 40 minutes on the phone with me discussing all the options etc.
I am disappointed that I can't use my current prop. Having to buy a new three Blade adds another $9000 on to the price tag.
