<p><em>“(I) </em>found the number six piston eroded from possible detonation by unknown causes,” writes a repair station technician. “I found the number five cylinder <em>(piston) </em>connecting rod cap missing and internal damage to the crankcase. No oil was noted on the dipstick<em>—(the oil) </em>presumed to be forced out of the engine due to excessive blow-by from the eroded number six <em>(piston</em>). This engine was shut down <em>(in flight) </em>and the aircraft landed in a grass field with no damage.” </p>
