rear seat shoulder harnesses
While getting my BAS AERO interial reel shoulder belts installed last week, I had the opportunity to have 2 A&P/IA's looking over my bird. They both commented on the ability to add shoulder harnesses to the rear seats. I know my wife would feel better if the kids were strapped in better in the back. I have been unable to find much about the upgrade. One A&P said that the attachment points were there and it would be a simple field approval.
Anyone done this and can relay the pain involved??
Thanks,
Rod

Re: rear seat shoulder harnesses
I installed the BAS system for the front seats and then decided to add matching shoulder harness and lap belts to the rear seat in my 1962 C172. I don't have SK number with me, but there is a Cessna service kit I used to accomplish this without field approval. There are two straps that come with the kit that are rivited to 2 bulk heads above the rear seats. As I recall, there were straps installed orginally, but I belive you must add the Service Kits straps and leave the old ones in place. Really came out nice!
