ADF no audio
ADF no audio
My ADF has suddenly quit transmitting audio. It still seems to indicate correctly, have tested it with several NDB approaches in VMC to verify. I hate to throw any money into it, but I would like to be able to listen to the radio on those long flights....
It's a King KR-85.
I have checked the connections, cleaned the contacts and applied a bit of dielectric grease to them.
I don't know how the wiring looks on the back of the tray, I'm not that nimble...

Don't know if this helps but just had my KR86 ADF in to the avionics shop for full a time max volume issue and the tech explained that the off/on/vol pot loosens with wear and eventualy fails with a variety of effects. New pots aren't readily available so he just gently belted around the pot with a small zip tie to exert slight side tension on the loose connection and it works fine.
