Radio Static
I have been getting complaints from the control towers that I am transmitting a lot of static when I contact them. I have had the local avionics shop check my radio several times and they tell me it is ok.
It appears to be happening when I am at altitude and the rpm's are high. If I pull the power back, the static diminishes.
Any suggestions would be great.
Re: Radio Static
Thinking out loud here, but that sounds like what others have diagnosed as burned out diodes in the alternator. Might be worth a check. I don't know if the service manual discusses this, but I think there was something about measuring for AC on the DC bus. If you find some AC it means there are some are burned out. I think there are 3 or 6 of them.
Hopefully you will get another opinion here, because mine is probably worth twice what you paid for it!! ( 2 times zero is still zero! )
Good luck...
