audio input jack on center console

good afternoon
ineed some assistance w/ my new 172sp..new to me...its a 2001 and i have noticed the audio input jack in the center console below the throttle. i assume this is where i can plug in my ipod? is that correct? if so, does anyone know the size or is it trial and error?..if in fact i can plug it in there, how do i set the audio panel, that came w/ the plane, to allow communications to override the ipod. any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated....all these new toys....whew....i figure a few of you folks have been down this road

If it is a 1/8" mini jack (if your standard IPOD jack fits it's 1/8) You are correct. Don't worry the audio system will automatically mute music when receiving or transmitting audio.
