Hello everyone, I recently purchased a 172F and can't pass the import inspection due to a problem with the STC number found in the logs dating back to 1969. My plane is equipped with a Doyne 180HP conversion O-360-A1A and a constant speed HC C2YK-1B prop.

The logs show a STC # SA 135 CE which is for a 170B with an O-320-A-1-A with a different prop. First off I don't know how it made it this long without anyone catching it or is there no difference between the 170B and 172F or has there have been any concern to the FAA in the past?

In conclusion she can't fly until I find the correct STC #SA3 571 for her with the above specs or a field approval or other document to say that the 170B and 172F are the same installation.

Can anyone help or at least steer me in the right direction?
