AoA System
While the FrankenHawk is getting its STOL Kit and new windshield installed, I'm thinking of putting an Alpha Systems AOA-5070K (http://alphasystemsaoa.com/mech.html) Angle of Attack Guage on the new glare shield.
Anyone have experience with these things?

Re: AoA System
I had experience with AOA indicating systems flying in the Navy. If you go with the mechanical system, get the dash mount but I would recommend the electronic version with the vertical LED display. Place either one next to the Pilot's side pillar so it's out of the way in your field of view when turning final or manuevering. We had both a panel mounted anlalog and the vertical LEDs on the left side above the glare shield and we only used the latter except for instrument flying. I doubt we could have landed supersonic iron on carrier decks without them and I'm assuming you're looking to improve your short field precision approaches-basically the same thing but without the swept wing.
