C 172-D Fuel Tank Baffel
Re: C 172-D Fuel Tank Baffel
<HTML>The baffles in fuel tanks serve to prevent fuel from unnecessarily "sloshing" around. This sloshing can become aggravated and "unport" the fuel finger-strainer and introduce air-bubbles into the fuel system. A really bad case can cause the engine to quit momentarily. The fix usually requires that the tank be removed from the wing and have the baffle re-attached. This can sometimes be done without removing the tank, depending upon the location/existence of inspection ports/covers. Some baffles can be reattached with "Pro-Seal" type adhesives. Check with your Cessna shop or trusted mechanic to determine how to repair yours.</HTML>
Re: C 172-D Fuel Tank Baffel
Hello Everyone, I am a new cessna owner and right after purchase the high voltage light (right below the starter) started to lid up, it comes and goes specially if I land hard, it may seem to be a loose connection somewhere. I have a mechanic check the alternator and battery it came OK, the 2nd mechanic suggested I changed the Fuel Transmitter that was expensive and it didn't fix the problem, does anyone know what this issue may be ?
