Cleveland Brake Spacers
Cleveland Brake Spacers
For those going to bigger tires on their aircraft, one of the perennial problems is that the new tires rub on the brake calipers. This is very annoying as well as dangerous. I had this problem with the 8.50x6 tires on my 172 and almost switched back until I found out that Alaska Bushwheels (http://www.akbushwheel.com) has spacer plates that go between the brakes and the wheels. The plates are 1/8” and I used two of them to get an extra ¼” of clearance.
