Found a crack in the fuselage rib in my C172

Found a crack in the fuselage rib in my C172

I had the rear plastic piece of my baggage compartment off this weekend and found a crack in the one the fuselage ribs.  It has been stopped drilled before but looks like it is starting to crack a little more.

I am going to take it to the A&P Monday, but any ideas on what I might be looking at cost or grief wise?

Thanks in advance
Dave

Re: Found a crack in the fuselage rib in my C172

Dave,
I am not sure if they are similar but my IA found a crack in the next to last bulkhead on my 150 last week during the annual. It also had been stop drilled and had a scab patch put over it. Neither of which is an approved method for that particularpart. The part cost me $350.00 and I have no idea of the hours involved as it is all part of the annual. It depends on how many rivets they have to drill out and replace and how much other stuff they have to take off to get to it. Best wishes on it not being too expensive.
