landing light upgrade 100w to 250 watt

Has anyone upgraded their landing light on a cessna 172 wing mount from 100watt [4509] to the 250 watt [4313 bulb] and if so what changes were required, fuse is now 20a so there is no problem with power supply.I land on a Ranch strip with very little strip light could use more light on very dark nights Thanks

I would be concerned with the switch. You are increasing the current by
2 1/2 times. The inrush current will be even greater.

One other option to consider it to go with a Quartz Halogen light. The Q4509 draws the same 100 watts but puts out considerably more light.

Thanks I will order 2 from Spruce [19.95 each] I when to google .com and read the reviews, excellent long life. 2x the light and most piper pilots when this way as they have bulb problems as the light is up front. Thanks Again Ron
