Cessna 172 Locking Fuel Cap

Cessna 172 Locking Fuel Cap

I am trying to find where to get locking fuel caps for my 1964 Cessna 172E Skyhawk.  My fuel is siphoned almost every time after I fill my tanks.  I would appreciate any help on this.

Re: Cessna 172 Locking Fuel Cap

you could probably cure the problem by sitting about 40 yards away, on a dark night, with a 22 rifle.(:>)

Re: Cessna 172 Locking Fuel Cap

I use stant 10582 locking caps on our 172L that seem to fit pretty well, available at auto parts stores. Have to reinstall cessna caps for flight.

Re: Cessna 172 Locking Fuel Cap

Also add electric tape over the key hole. Turn the fuel selector to off, have lost fuel till we did this.
