Larger Engine in 1968 Cardinal

Larger Engine in 1968 Cardinal

Does anyone have any thoughts on putting an O-360 (fixed pitch prop) in an older Cardinal that currently has an O-320 in it?

I cruise about 133 mph true, right now, normally.  If I were to put an O-360, the cost seems HUGE, and it would bring me, what, 10% more airspeed at 20% more to operate (+ the cost of purchase and installation)?

Please help me think?

Re: Larger Engine in 1968 Cardinal

Jenna;
          I bought my 1968 Cardinal (N29488) a year ago which already had the O-320 replaced with an O-360-A1A & fixed pitch prop.  Also has a Power Flow exhaust installed.  At present, in straight and level flight at 2500 rpm, I cruise at 145 mph although I usually fly at 2200-2300 rpm and cruise at 120-130 mph to save fuel.  Hope this helps.
