door removed in flight
<HTML>I read a post that someone wanted to fly with the door removed on a 150 and someone responded it couldnt legally be done. I have a waiver from the FAA to fly a 172 with 1 door removed for aerial photography. All you need to do is give the serial # to your freindly FAA FSDO inspector and it will be done. There are restrictions on yaw and bank, cargo and smoking. Only 1 door ( left, right or baggage) can be removed at one time. All 100 series Cessnas are approved. The plane flies fine althouth a bit noisy. I imagine it would fly the same with 2 doors off as I flew my cubs and champs flew fine with a door off a window down but the FAA wouldnt go for it.</HTML>
Re: door removed in flight
<HTML>I have just gotten the door off approval from the local FSDO - and in the list of requirements is a guardrail or safety device for the door off.
Would anyone have any info on what would be suitable?
Thanks
