Autopilot
When trying to intercept a localizer course in AP mode the KAP 140 turns away from the desired course when reaching the localizer signal. This means, it is not possible to fly an ILS approach with the approach mode set. This phenomenon occurs with different intercept angles as 20, 30 or 40 degrees. The same problem occurs in NAV mode while trying to intercept a GPS course with the HSI coupled and the heading bug set on the desired intercept angle. The autopilot turns away from the desired course, when reaching.
The ROL mode, HDG mode and ALT mode works fine. The self test passes without any failure. Can anybody explain ? German pilot asks the Cessna community, English is not perfect, sorry for that.
