CESSNA 320

CESSNA 320

THE 1962 CESSNA POH SAYS THAT THE AUX FUEL PUMPS SHOULD BE "TURNED TO ON" ABOVE 12000 FT, "TO PREVENT FUEL VAPORIZATION"
IN THE LINE. I HAVE INTERPRETED THIS TO MEAN : ABOVE 12000 TURN THE PUMPS TO THE ON OR 'HI" POSITION & LEAVE THEM ON.
BUT I'M WONDERING (WITH A BURNED OUT FUEL PUMP) IF LEAVING THEM SIMPLY, ON: ABOVE 12000 ISN'T INVITING A PROBLEM. FORMER OWNER
'I BELIEVE , SAID HE CYCLES THEM ON MOMENTARILY, BUT THEN THE QUESTION BECOMES : AT WHAT INTERVALS? MOST 310 PILOTS
I'VE ASKED DONT EVEN KNOW EITHER THE BOOK VERSION QUOTED ABOVE OR THE CLCLE VERSION AS STATED BY THE FORMER OWNER
OF MY PLANE. THEY WILL SAY THE STANDARD- ON OFF FOR TANK SWITCHING OR T.O. & LANDING. ANYONE KNOW THE PROPER OPERATION OF THE AUXILLARY FUEL PUMP ABOVE 12000 FT, FOR THE C320 WITH TSIO-470-C ENGINES.
