Last night while taking off and maybe 60 feet AGL I lost engine power requiring me to make an off field landing off the end of the runway.  The fuel had no water in it, the run-up was perfect and the plane is flown weekly. The humidity was too low to make carb ice likely.  It has been suggested that it is likely that the fuel selector was slightly out of the "both" indent.  Anybody want to weigh in?
