Cessna T182T Leaky Fuel Vent, Is this Okay?
Cessna T182T Leaky Fuel Vent, Is this Okay?
I just purchased a 2001 Cessna T182T. I notice that when the tanks are full, that fuel leaks profusely from the vent pipe located at the bottom of the cowling and above the main landing gear. I typically get blue fuel stains on the right side of the wheel pant each time I fill it up. And a few hours later after each flight, there is typically a dried up blue puddle of fuel right under the mouth of the vent. I am also noticing that the right tank tends to empty out much sooner then the left.
Is this suggestive of a problem?
By the way, I had a pre-buy inspection done on this plane and although the main wheel paint was noted to be filthy, nothing came up regarding this potential problem.
