nose shimmy
<HTML>I need some advise on my 1975 150M, I recently had my annual and asked the ap to check the nose wheel because of the shimmy I am getting. He reported that everything is tight, but I still get more than I feel is shimmy. I kepp the the nose off the ground as much as possible but the problem seems to be getting worse. Any thoughts and comments would be appreciated. Thanks !</HTML>
Re: nose shimmy
<HTML>I suggest you have youre shimmy dampener dismanteled, and inspected,If it hasnt been overhauled in quite some time, that may be the ticket.Typically rust(corrosion)will form in the cylinder area, and let the hydraulic pressure slip past the piston.
Even though it LOOKS ok on the outside,I suggest a rebuild,or replacement.
Nose tires can also be a culprit, check inflation(youre a&p should have done this already)and have it checked for"out of roundness"
I rebuilt the one(shimmy dampener) in my 150K,and it has not given me any problems since, the reduild kit is cheap.......Tailwinds</HTML>

<HTML>The magazine that sponsors this forum (Cessna Owner Magazine) mails out an issue every month. You should subscribe to it and read it. If you had this months issue you would see that on page 50 is an ad from Lord about their new shimmy dampner. www.lordmpd.com
And on pg 69 is an ad from www.herberaircraft.com which says if you'll mention code:shherad you will receive a discount for the Lord shimmydampner.</HTML>
