74-182: Flap Bracke Failure
<HTML>I am both sharing this info and hoping to get info relating to this particular mishap.
While recovering from a power on stall a condition was perpetrated such that the flap bracket
forward surface engaged a supporting bracket mounted on the flap track ( to support the skin
around the flap track opening) and caused a significant amount of damage on both the flap and the
flap well skin on the wing. No cause has been determined. All significant dimensions have been
checked against either minimum / maximum allowable conditions or against replacement parts.
None has proven to be a cause, yet. My impression of having impacted something in flight is still not
refuted. Several easy fixes exist to prevent a reoccurrence. Your comments are welcomed.
