172H conversion to 180hp and floats

172H conversion to 180hp and floats

<HTML>there are a number of shops with an stc to convert to 180 hp. there are also a number of float suppliers. however there does not appear to be anyone with an stc to convert a 172h to 180hp on floats. has anyone done this pls help thx</HTML>

<HTML>Have you considered powerflow exhaust - I just posted a note responding to another - and I dont know how it will affect the float situation - however if you are looking for higher rpm- climb and another 20 hp os so - I can recommend the exhaust system highly.
Installed it on my 1969 c-172 160 hp ram conversion

Ever think of using a 220 hp Franklin, it makes a wonderful conversion. Contact Franklin engines in Fort Collins Co. I think they told me they had an STC for putting them in the 172 with floats.</HTML>

<HTML>penn yan has stc for 180hp superhawk conversion with or without floats. powerflo exhaust is not stc'ed with floatplane prop yet but doesn't seem to be a problem if it's on before the float conversion</HTML>
