C-172RG Cutlass
C-172RG Cutlass
<HTML>Curious if any of you own this particular plane. Likes and Dislikes. Also is this a C/S prop and what engine upgrades are out there. I run into high density upto 9000ft. I have flown a C-172 STC Air Plains and love it, would the performace be comparable or better?
Thanks in Advance,
Justin</HTML>

<HTML>Justin:
I have a 1981 Cutlass RG. I love mine but operate out of Florida so you may have some different needs. It has a constant speed Prop ( I have a 3 blade Black Mac) with a 180 HP Lycoming. I am unaware of any horsepower upgrages but would be interested if anyone knows of any. I get about 135 knots TAS. Due to the large opening for the front landing gear and the extra weight, It seems a little slower on the take off roll than a comperable fixed gear 172. When the gear pulls up you know it. I would be a little concerned at your altitude. Hopefully someone with you same situation will respond. If you are interested, make sure the gear AD has been done.
Good Luck,
Brad</HTML>
