gap seal and other kits

I own a 1974 Cessna 182 (P) Skylane with the 470 engine.
It cruses between 120 and 130 kts (depending on altitude and temp.). I was wandering if somebody as an experience in kits that could increase the crusing speed. I understood that a vortex generator kit on the 182 would not increase the cruse speed but decrease the stall speed (which is not very interesting on that airplane, stall speed being already very low).
So what about the gap seal, the cowl fairing kit for exemple ? (see www.knots2u.com for exemple).

Any information would be appreciated.

<HTML>From what I understand the vortex generators actually decrease the cruise speed a little also.
Clean up like the fairings almost always help and I have been seriously considering the knots2u fairings - they have a set of wheel pants that will fit over my oversize tires (and cover the brakes) and it looks like the nosewheel pant/fairing will also cover the nose strut - I went in reverse in a few areas on my 172 - things that decreased the stall, or the big tires (no fairings to date), but I'm very happy with them because they also seemed to increase the stability at slow speeds and Improve performance when heavily loaded. The tires smooth out landings on rough fields I occasionally use, and a few badly paved ones, so I really appreciate them - I removed them once and didn't like it,so I reinstalled them.
I think things like horner wingtips would help, but I'm keeping the droop tips I have because of the slow speed handling and load handling effecitveness.
Also I added the powerflow tuned exhaust which greatly helped, - I really can't say enough good things about putting a tuned exhaust on this (or ang engine), and repitched the prop 2 inches. The exhaust was about $3000 and I spent about $350 on removing the prop, repitching, and reinstalling.

<HTML>Sorry for the suggestion - I checked and the exhaust is apparently not available for that engine, They seem to be working on the smaller engines so far.
