C180/C185 Leading Edge Exhaust Systems

C180/C185 Leading Edge Exhaust Systems

Does anyone have any experience with this new exhaust system?

My '58 C180's (SN 50167 w/a O-470K) tired exhaust could use an upgrade. Just checking to see if anyone has had some hands on experience with this. I've noticed that this system employs a single muffler and twin exhaust pipes. I'm wondering what potential installation and operational problems I might run into using this system.

<HTML>Hey, Mario! I don't know about that one, but the PowerFlow Exhaust system has a pretty hefty rebate going on right now for Cessna Owner Organization members. Up to $250!! Check out their ad in the Novemeber 2001 issue!</HTML>

Thanks for commenting and a big thumbs up to your indepth discussions on this site.

I've heard about Power Flow Exhaust several times before. My situation is that it doesn't come in my favorite flavor - '58 C180.

I've poked around and have tried to find alternative systems, including changing my old style 6 clamp collector to riser exhaust system to the newer slip joint. I figure this should cut out about 2/3 of the potential exhaust leakage around fittings (4 less joints). Some of the 182 people are doing this with a 337 approval. But I haven't come across anyone who has accomplished this with an older 180.

The Leading Edge Exhaust System in Anchorage looks kind of interesting. I haven't been able to get a response from anyone via email. I've got a friend up there who's going to go and personally knock on his door to see if this is a viable alternative.

If I come across something, I'll give this site a FYI posting.
