Hangar Rent??
Our airport has just approved raising our hangar rent. We are paying 75.00/mo. now, and they are raising it to 100.00/mo. These are open front/closed sides T-hangars. Just curious as to how much ya'll are paying for hangar rent, and how much of an increase ya'll have seen in your area. I'm located in NC.

Fully enclosed T-Hangar at KOAK (Oakland International Airport) across the bay from San Francisco is $232.00/Month. Annual rent increase is limited by law to annual "cost of living" index.

Believe it or not I pay $300/mo. for a shared hanger in Houston Texas at IWS. I am looking for a cheaper place. They are way to proud of that airport. Hmmmm Houston more expensive than San Francisco??????

I pay $130.00 for a T-hanger with a bifold door in bemidji, MN. I was on a waiting list for over 2 years and lucked out that the State Patrol had to sell their plane due to budget cuts and I got their hager. From most people I have talked with what I am paying is typical for a small town and much less than in a city.

$238.00 Per Month
Increaseas by Cost of Living Only, about 2.5% per year
It took me 2 years but the list is now 3 years long as I'm told.

I have a large "corner" T hangar with the extra room due to the corner location. Fully enclosed, concrete floors, electricity and a 15 X 15 foot loft. I pay $65.00 /month. The other airports in the area range in the $75-$85 /month for a T hangar.

T-hangar with sliding doors. $120.00/month in middle Tennessee. Electricity included. Airport board will probably raise it though. They've been threatening to do so.

I live in Des Moines, IA. At my field (IKV) I have a T Hangar with an electric bi-fold door, concrete floor and electricity in it. I am now paying $170 per month, they raised it from $150 where is was for over 2 years without an increase.

$162 / month at Falcon Field, Mesa, AZ for an enclosed hangar, but there is a 7 year waiting list. $82 / month for covered tie down, and a 2 year waiting list.

Be happy you have such a good deal! $200 to $500 per month in CT. I pay $65 per month for tie down. Any more hanger space available where you are? I want to move!

<HTML>East of Atlanta in Lawrenceville, Ga enclosed hangers are $300 per month. Gainesville, GA, about 25 miles further east, there is a 5-year waiting list and about $275 per month for the new hangers. Painful.</HTML>

$500 a month in CT!! Thats more than most folks' house payments around here! Sorry Vin, I dont think there are any open now, but there isn't a waiting list. So when the next hangar queen moves out there will be one up for grabs first come, first served.

Here in Kelowna BC Canada you have to buy your T-hangar.
When they were built last year they were selling for $44,000 but now they are really going up - one just sold for $66,000.
Here is the kicker - on top of the purchase price, strata fees and triple net are around $300 per month AND the land that the hangar sits on still belongs to the airport authority.
I rent a tiedown on asphalt, next to the apron for $600 per year - a way better deal for me and something that I can afford.

Eat your heart out. Here in Northern Arkansas (the Ozarks) I pay $40.00 a month for an insulated,bird free,electricity supplied hangar. Sure I am out in the boondocks, but that is why I have a C172. We have a 4600 foot runway newly resurfaced and a few deer to watch out for. Repeat $40.00 a month a 6M2, Horseshoe Bend, AR. Come on down. Tie down is free. Camping available too.

I think Jack hit the nail on the head when he said he paid $40/mo for a hangar and was in the Arkansas boonies. After looking at all the other responses, it looks like hangar cost is pretty much a function of the square of the population density of the area, divided by the logarythm of the distance from class B airspace (except for Kelowna, BC...but hey, thats a foreign country!)

And I always thought that it was the US that was the foreign country
Reminds me of the British couple who landed in the US and the saw the sign which directed US Citizens one way and Aliens another way. They said, "Excuse us but we're British - which way do we go?"

I spent one night in Kelowna on summer vacation years ago on our way to Jasper, Banff, etc. It was a delightful stop; we had dinner in a rooftop cafe under the stars, overlooking the lake. My only real complaint about Canada is finding a good restaurant when you're anywhere but in a metro area, although the one in Kelowna was OK.

$375 for a T hangar in North San Diego County, $73 for a tie-down. Was cheaper when the airport was run by a non-profit airport group. Now the county has taken over the operation. Shows what happens when governement gets involved.

Here in Indian Head MD. (2W5) thats about 25 miles South of Wash.DC we pay $60 for a tie down shared Quonset Hut with sliding doorsfor $200 Individual T hangars with sliding doors are $225 and bit T's with bi fold and electrics are $300. And we have an ADIZ to live in.
