Hangar Rent??
Re: Hangar Rent??
MEMPHIS,TN area .................. IF you can FIND a Hangar in this area it rents for anywhere from $175 to upwards of $300 per month for a Single Engine Aircraft, the COMMUNITY HANGAR folks are paying slightly less.
I was keeping my Airplane down in Mississippi for a whole lot less, but had to drive more to get to the airplane.
IF YOU WANT CONVENIENCE, YOU PAY FOR IT !!!
If you don't mind driving a little extra, you SAVE BUCKS !!!

Hi Bob
email me next time you are coming here and I will steer you to some great restaurants. I am in the Chaine des Rotisseurs and we have 6 member restaurants in Kelowna (that is a lot, given our high standards) - including the restaurant that the Chefs Association rated the best restaurant in BC. From your description you probably dined at Earl's. Great location but too much "Hi, my names Nigel and I'm your table person for tonight", for my liking.
If you love good restaurants, check out your local Chaine des Rotisseurs - it's the best gourmet group on the planet.

Re: Hangar Rent??
At 5K6 and the general area ( between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin - a hangar starts about $200 to $300 a month - if you can get one. The waiting list is usually a couple of years, and has been up to almost 10 years at some airports - I finally got a hangar once, about 8 years after I had sold the airplane - You had to move ( and drive ) farther out even to get anything.
Tiedown starts about $50 to $80 a month, you can get one most of the time, The real problem is that airports evaporate out from under you occasionally, then you have a problem - everyone's looking for new space at the same time.
The evaporation problem has happened at Meigs recently ( highly publicized ) and many other fields I have flown out of.
The trick is to find a tiedown or hangar at an airport that you hope will be there awhile.

Re: Hangar Rent??
<HTML>New tee-hangars were built at Merril Field in Anchorage, Alaska about three years ago. Each heated unit sold for approximately $80,000.00. Due to our having about eight times the general aviation activity per capita than the rest of the U.S., hangar space and airport lots are extremely precious as a function of supply and demand! My plane is at an electric, out-door tie down for $65.00/month. Float plane slips on Lake Hood for the summer months are between $1,100 to $2,000, per five-month season. I think I'll go buy some more Imron!</HTML>
Re: Hangar Rent??
I live near Omaha NE. At my field (TQE) I have a 46 Ft T Hangar with an electric bi-fold door, concrete floor and electricity in it. I am now paying $90 per month There are about 4 empty hangers with eletric bi-fold doors on the field and 6 with roller doors that are empty. it is a nice 4000'X 75' Paved strip with a A&P on field.
